Ayres Elementary School (grades K-2 school); full-time with benefits, 2014-2015 (July 28, 2014).  MUST possess current, appropriate licensure with endorsements through Colorado Department of Education.  Starting salary:  $54,854.00 (with minimum 2 years experience as principal and minimum of Masters)

Qualifications/Job Description

RE1 Valley School District is accepting applications for a Principal at Ayres Elementary School (primary) beginning in the 2014-2015 school year.  Ayres Elementary School serves approximately 425 K-2 students.

 The school staff is looking for a dynamic educator with a sound background and experience in leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to support the educational development of each student.  The staff is looking for a leader who can promote a warm and welcoming culture and climate by creating trust and working effectively with staff, students, parents, and the community, while establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Colorado Principal Licensure or the ability to obtain one through the Colorado Department of Education
  • Experience in teaching, supervision, and instructional leadership
  • Experience with data-driven school improvement processes that result in high academic achievement for all and elimination of achievement gaps (UIP, Colorado Teacher Evaluation System)
  • Experience in designing and implementing targeted academic interventions (Common Core State Standards, RtI Model, Colorado READ Act)
  • Current knowledge of best instructional practices, current research, and trends
  • Demonstrated communication/interpersonal skills that develop open, trusting relationships between faculty, students, and community members
