Dear RE-1 Valley Staff and Community,

It is my pleasure to announce the selection of Mr. Wally Beardsley as the Principal for Sterling High School.  A committee consisting of parents, teachers and district administrators unanimously selected Mr. Beardsley out of a competitive pool of five candidates selected to interview. Mr. Beardsley is enthusiastic and excited to accept this position. I am excited as well to have Mr. Beardsley join our Principal team.

Mr. Beardsley has over 25 years of experience in the field of education, and has been with RE-1 Valley School District for most of that time.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University. One quote from a reference describes Mr. Beardsley in this way:  “He has always demonstrated professionalism and a focus on what is in the best interest of a student.  His sense of humor and his no-nonsense approach to life make him easy to communicate with and allow him to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members from a variety of backgrounds”.

Please join me in welcoming Mr. Beardsley to his new role.

Jan Marie DeLay, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
